In Loving Memory of Tucker
Tucker was many things over his nearly fourteen years, but above all, he was a fierce and loyal protector. At just five months old, he chased burglars down the road without hesitation — a glimpse into the brave heart he would carry his entire life. He watched over his mom like a hawk, never letting her out of his sight, always seeming to sleep with one eye open.
He took his job as guardian seriously, faithfully escorting the girl dogs outside and standing watch over them. Yet behind that protective nature was the easiest-going, most laid-back soul. He loved the simple pleasures — eating grass, rolling in the dirt, and soaking up the sun.
Tucker never turned down a snack, especially if it involved pizza crust or carbs of any kind. He was known to “raid the pantry” whenever the opportunity presented itself. He also loved going on adventures with the boy dogs — usually sprinting straight into the woods with pure joy.
Though gentle by nature, he had one lifelong rival: Deogi, his self-appointed arch nemesis.
Tucker fought bravely against aggressive cancer, and this past Wednesday, we made the heartbreaking but loving decision to let him rest peacefully. He gave us nearly fourteen years of loyalty, laughter, protection, and unconditional love. Our home will never be the same without him, but his spirit will always remain in the places he guarded so faithfully.
Run free, sweet boy.
