Tibsy Dammit Hatcher, affectionately known as Tibbs, left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to share in his extraordinary life. Born on July 4, 2013, and passing away on April 2, 2026, in Dothan, Tibsy was no ordinary dog; he was a beacon of boundless energy, unwavering devotion, and remarkable intelligence. A true cattle dog at heart, his spirit was as vibrant and commanding as the breed he proudly represented.

Tibsy’s journey began as a foster, but fate had other plans. When it was time for him to be transferred to Minnesota, those who loved him simply could not let him go. His place was here, with Lori, his devoted dog mom; Andy, his steadfast dog dad; and his beloved siblings—CJ, Mason, Miranda—and a chorus of fur brothers: Gordito, Frankie, Delta, Atlas, Wolfie, Dirks, Quinn, and Jinx, the rescued cat whose life he transformed from feral to family.

High-energy and fiercely protective, Tibsy was always eager to keep everyone in line. His personality overflowed with love and compassion, and his cleverness was legendary. He delighted in showcasing the myriad of tricks he had mastered, constantly proving just how smart he was. Above all, Tibsy took immense pride in mentoring hundreds of foster pups throughout the years, guiding them with patience and care. His nurturing nature extended beyond dogs; he was the hero who rescued a feral cat, turning it into the cherished indoor companion now known as Jinx.

His passions were simple yet profound. Long truck rides sparked his sense of adventure, while evenings gathered around the fire pit soothed his vibrant soul. Those quiet moments of warmth and companionship were among his favorites, a perfect close to days filled with spirited exploration.

One candid memory paints a vivid picture of Tibsy’s mischievous yet loving heart: one night, missing his nightly walk, he decided that walking shoes were no longer necessary and dropped them into the fire pit during a family campfire. Such moments of spirited whimsy endeared him to all who knew him.

Tibsy’s absence leaves a hollow ache in the lives of those who loved him. He was one of a kind, a singular presence that will be deeply missed yet forever remembered. Among his departed siblings, Sunny, Aussie, and Red Dog, he now joins the ranks of cherished spirits, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, intelligence, and love.

His family—both human and fur—will carry forward his memory, holding close the joy he brought into their lives. Though gone, Tibsy “Tibbs” Dammit Hatcher’s spirit runs free with the wild energy he so adored, forever a guardian of those he loved.
