Scooter Walsh, fondly known as “Scoot Scoot,” slipped peacefully away from our lives on June 21, 2026. Though his time with us was far too short, the impression he left on our hearts is enduring and deep.

It was in the closing months of 2012 that fate intervened in an ordinary day at the dealership. A coworker arrived, almost as if guided by unseen hands, carrying a cardboard box that changed everything. Scooter, just a tiny ball of fur, peered out with bright, inquisitive eyes—just a month or two old, but already radiating a quiet confidence. The very moment he was cradled for the first time, he nestled his head into a neck and, in his own gentle way, declared himself part of the family.

Scooter earned his playful nickname, “Scoot Scoot,” almost immediately. From those earliest kitten days, walking simply wasn’t in his repertoire; instead, he scooted, electricity running to his paws. The sight of Scooter launching himself across floors at impossible speeds remains an indelible memory—one that brings laughter even now through the ache of loss.

Scooter’s spirit was never solitary. He grew alongside a family who cherished him deeply: Kayla, Jason, and his canine brother Cayden, whose love and companionship provided the warmth and security every being longs for. Scooter also shared his journey, for a time, with his sibling Wylee Walsh, whose memory now mingles with his. Though Wylee preceded him in passing, their bond and adventures live on in every shared story and remembered moment.

The fabric of Scooter’s life was woven from everyday affection—a nuzzle in the morning, a sudden zoom across the room, the soft pressure of his head settling into a welcoming hand. There was magic in those small acts, and a lesson, too: how joy can live in movement and belonging, in the simple act of being close to those we call our own.

Though Scooter’s paws no longer patter across familiar floors, the echoes of his enthusiasm and warmth will linger always. For those who loved him, there will forever be the memory of a kitten in a cardboard box, a swift and loving presence, and the reminder that family can sometimes arrive in the gentlest, most unexpected ways.

Farewell, dear Scoot Scoot. Your gave us 14 years of true love and comfort, and for that we are grateful.  We will miss you Scoot Scoot, go find Wylee for us.
