We are saddened to announce the passing of Kahlua, a cherished companion to Joan.

Kahlua began her life as a racing dog in Florida, competing under the name Lollipop for her first three years. In July 2015, she found her forever home with Joan at a retired greyhound adoption event in Atlanta, Georgia. Their bond was immediate as Kahlua gently leaned against Joan, marking the start of a beautiful companionship.

Kahlua was known for her striking blue brindle coat, soft to the touch, and her distinctive ear tattoos. Unlike many greyhounds, she vigilantly guarded her home, alert to every sound in the neighborhood. Her love for running never waned, and she could often be seen joyfully racing around the backyard in her unique counter-clockwise pattern.

She leaves behind her devoted dog mom, Joan, her playmate and cousin Caleb, and everyone who had the privilege to know her. Rest easy, dear Kahlua, you are deeply missed.
